This unique bronze athame was envisioned by Christian Day to honor the Snake Goddess of ancient Minoan culture and was specially created for Omen by a master bladesmith on the Isle of Crete. The island has held strategic military significance to numerous conquering nations throughout history. Due to the need for vigilant defense against invasion, Crete has also had a long association with the crafting of knives—dating back to ancient Minoan culture. Knife shops can be found throughout the island, especially in cities like Chania and Heraklion, with some said to have been there since medieval times.
